Sporting memories session

Starting RED I always knew that I wanted to try and bring all these incredible memories back to the fans and social media is SO wonderful for this. When I share the archive of photographs online, fans get to comment and chat about their memories and you can literally feel the joy of reminiscing and sharing leap from the screen.

But not everyone is on facebook or twitter. Some fans are isolated for a variety of different reasons and so all along I’ve been adamant that we use the archive and go TO the fans, in person.

In January we delivered a second pilot ‘Down Memory Lane’ session, but this time with a local ‘Memories group’ for people living with Dementia and their Carers. We spent the most incredible afternoon with the group, sharing photos and stories and with A LOT of banter from a couple of Blues.. :)

We took along a selection of fans’ personal photos and also recent photos from around Anfield.. and immediately the room was buzzing, the whole group were in conversation.. talking about everything from first matches to what food they would eat at a game. It was an incredible afternoon of reminiscing over such fond memories and the group also gave us invaluable feedback about what they would like to see us bring next time (someone said to bring my Dad).. but also just how much they all enjoyed it.

If you’re interested in collaborating on a ‘Down Memory Lane’ session then please get in touch. We’d be interested in working with organisations, charities, community groups and schools..
